Jacob Husley resident DJ and booker of the world famous Sunday night party, WetYourSelf at Fabric, and every Friday night at Always Fridays at Egg, London. Signed to Kismet records Rui Da Silvas renowned label Kismet records. Husley is known for his fast DJ sets of bouncy techno and minimal electro they have taken him to the biggest clubs around the world and seen him play alongside all the top players in the scene. Husley has also been touring with the production and live act under the alias Husley&Gunz : A two piece electronic LIVE act with a distinctive sound of deep jazzy techno executed with samplers keybords and labtops.
Husley started his Djing career in 1997 in Denmark and quickly made a name for himself on the Danish DnB scene. In 2000 he moved to London and continued to infect enthusiastic crowds at a string of DnB raves on the outskirts of London. While in London, Husley began to be deeply influenced by other dance and electronic genres and started to explore, Nubreaks, Electro, Minimal Techno and Acid House. He succeeded in getting more and more gigs in clubs and bars across the capital until he secured his residency in Brick Lane’s 1001 and was appointed booker and promoter of the venuein 2004. In 2005 Husley started his own party brand called TEMBA (Techno-Electro-Minimal-Breaks-Acid) with the philosophy that a good club night or a DJ set should not have boundaries, TEMBA started as monthly warehouse parties and found its first home in Rhythm Factory where its still running on its 4 year once a month. In the beginning of 2008 He Joined John Humphry and took over Always Fridays weekly party at the Egg In Kings Cross and that has since moved to become one of the biggest Friday night out for techno and house in London. In 2007 he started Wetyourself with Peter Pixzel and Cormac that has now grown into a global party brand and a weekly residency every Sunday night in the worlds number 1 venue Fabric.
Husley&Gunz
In 2003 Jacob formed a music production partnership with August Jakobsen under the alias Nocturnals. Within this group they each expressed their inventive musical edge & their style had no boundaries; the result was a musical journey that would take you through deep electronica & ambient sound to live breaking beats, bass lines with jazzy undertones. This was achieved using turntables and fxs spun by Jacob, and laptop, sampler and keyboard mastered by August. Their live performances were enhanced through the presence of trumpet, live double bass, drums, keys & stunning vocals. They were then signed to Gilles Peterson’s Glenfiddich tour and played around 30 gigs in some of London’s most eminent venues. And featured in the some of the UK’s biggest publications such as Observer Music Monthly, GQ and Time Out.
As Nocturnals developed so did Jacob and August’s interest for techno and house music, and in 2006 they formed Husley & Gunz and was signed straight away to Rui Da Silva, label, Sixty-four Records with their EP Sonance in Oct 06. Even before its release on Rui’s label, the record became in huge demand and was played by some of the worlds greatest DJs. In 2008 Husley & Gunz have released 3 Eps on Kismet records so far and is due to release their first full album in 2009.
